On the Ministry of Health’s Administration for rendering medical aid to mothers and infants, and family planning

 The Republic of Tajikistan’s Ministry of Health’s Administration for rendering medical aid to mothers and infants, and family planning (hereinafter referred to as the Administration) was established in accordance with the Regulation of the Republic of Tajikistan’s Government issued on May 30, 2008, No. 282.
        The Administration consists of the Department of infants and adolescents’ health protection and development of parental skills, and the Department of safe maternity and family planning. The personnel of the Administration consists of 7 persons, including the Chief of the Administration, two heads of departments, two senior specialists, two leading specialists and a specialist. T
         he Administration is entrusted with implementing the following tasks:
- conducting, in due order, the uniform state policy in the area of maternal and infant health protection and family planning, monitoring of current status, working out of mid-term and long-term programs in the field of maternal and infant health protection and family planning;
- working out of instructions, standards and norms related to the sphere of maternal and infant health protection and family planning;
- working out, in accordance with normative documents, of the Regulations concerning national standards in the sphere of maternity and infant health protection and family planning, including the standards related to the quality of medical aid, as well as preparation of other instructive, normative and legal documents in this field, their endorsement and control over their implementation;
- placing social orders for the implementation of scientific research in the field of maternal and infant health and family planning;
- working out of the Register of licensing-subject kinds of professional activities in the sphere of maternal and infant protection and family planning;
- participation in issuing of certificates for medical activities and licenses;
- control, within the framework of its competence, over the implementation of the Republic of Tajikistan and Ministry of Health’s normative documents in the field of maternal and infant health protection and family planning;
- working out of rules and procedure of conducting medical-and-genetic expertise;
- participation in the working out of recommendations concerning the due employment of pregnant women, working out the procedures of rendering contraceptive aid to willing persons, preparation of the list of indications for and procedures of conducting surgical sterilization, list of medical indication for artificial fetus wastage and relevant surgeries in accordance with the Republic of Tajikistan’s legislation;
- presenting proposals concerning raising the role of the service of maternal and infant protection and family planning in the Health Service Reform, as well as raising the efficiency of budgetary funds spending and adaptation of subject establishments to market economy conditions;
- presenting proposals in the process of working out mechanisms of rendering state-guaranteed free medical and sanitary aid to mothers and infants;
- presenting proposals in the process of working out strategy and programs for maternal and infant vaccination, presence of persons taking care of sick infants in medical institutions, procedures of sending infants to sanatoria and health resorts.
